SPREADING SMILES- 20TH NOVEMBER
Picture Swoyambhu Nath Temple and the instant thought that would cross one's mind is that of men and women rushing through the crowded footpaths for their morning and evening koras, lit butter lamps , spinning prayer wheels, monkeys scattered around in search of food, the spectacular 365 staircase which makes one feel like one has achieved something really great when one reaches the temple up there (unaware or deliberately ignorant of the fact that they are not the only ones to have done so) ,the picturesque view of Kathmandu valley, urging one to instantly take out one's camera and get a panoramic shot of it, breathtaking, isn’t it? But very few would observe the little ones around the place, mostly poor clad unprivileged children with the least expectation of receiving a second glance, running around, begging. Hence, we, the team of Nyeshang Events decided to let these children know they are special and deserve to be cared. We do not encourage begging so we decided that rather than giving them money we ought to do something special for them.
Team Nyeshang events visit to Pashupatinath Temple .. The children there can teach you a lot of lessons about life. They are street smart , very vocal , fearless and knows what is it like to be poor, living under no roofs. They dive in the temple river to collect coins post cremation with their very skillfully designed magnetic tool (no matter even if it's winter time and the water icy cold) . Mahesh , one of the kids says that he left home because he wanted to study. He stays around the temple begging and sometimes working as a guide, just to make his living and to be able to continue going to school.
